Landscaping summer '11

oh, and don't forget the backyard clean up...

The top is the view from the deck when we moved in, the latter is now, and after the initial heavy clean up and umpteen bags of pine needles and debris - and I kid you not, probably 30 years worth.  As in, I don't think anyone EVER cleaned up back there.  EVER!  We removed the bridge as well, and Matt's building little cedar bridges to replace them over the creek which is behind the chain-link fence.

this is after we (we meaning Bob) removed all the neighbor's shrubbery growing to cover an even uglier fence - but that's the beginnings of a bamboo hedge to cover it, plus we added a berm of Lydia Bloom and Ceonothis.(sp?)

Grass is in!

It's actually fully in now, we even mow it! I need to get an updated shot, and of the back too! A few big changes coming soon, transforming the double-doors that open from the rec room onto the driveway (so stupid) into a window w/ a bench inside! AND exterior paint in July!!!! I'm not excited at all.
